Lagos Run is the danfo driving game that came first. Lagos Life is the life sim built after it. Same city, different games, different developers.
Lagos Life vs Lagos Run: Two Different Games
Two games, two developers, one city. Lagos Run is a browser endless-runner where you drive a yellow danfo through Lagos traffic and chase a score. Lagos Life is a multiplayer life simulation where you build a character, take shifts, pay rent and meet people in the game. Lagos Run came first, in the last week of September 2026; Lagos Life launched five days later, inspired by it.

Who made which game
Lagos Run is the work of Opeyemi Adeniran, a senior frontend engineer based in Berlin who posts on X as @eureka_seamless. He announced it plainly: "I built a game where you drive a danfo through Lagos. Load passengers, dodge okadas, beat the traffic. Plays in your browser, no download." That post is why danfo.horpey.dev is the address to trust.
Lagos Life is a separate project by Shalom Rayhamen, published under the name Eliy, whose own terms name Eliy and eliysites.com as operator. Media naming splits: TechPoint and TechCrier write Shalom Mathew, Arise News writes Ijeoma Shalom Rayhamen. We use the account's display name, covered on the who-made-it page.
Official source: Lagos Life creator on X, 1 October 2026 — "I grew up playing The Sims 3 and always wondered what it would be like if the Sims lived in a world inspired by ours. Then I saw @eureka_seamless riding a danfo through Lagos, and it sparked an idea: Lagos Life Sims."
Lagos Run started Lagos Life
The creator says it in the launch post above, and both TechCabal's 29 September profile and TechPoint describe the same chain.
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| Late September 2026 | Lagos Run goes public and spreads on Nigerian timelines |
| 29 September 2026 | TechCabal profiles the developer; by his account it passed 20,000 players in two days |
| 1 October 2026 | Lagos Life launches on Independence Day, naming the danfo game as the spark |
| Four days after launch | Lagos Life passes one million players, per TechPoint |
| 6 October 2026 | Both still live, still posted about side by side |
The danfo is the shared reference point: a real vehicle on a real street, which is why searches for "danfo game" land on two different games.

That photo is Lagos in October, not either game. Lagos Run renders the vehicle as something you steer. Lagos Life uses it as one option among trekking, keke, okada and cabs, per the map and locations guide.
The five-second test
Open the link, look at the first screen:
- A steering wheel and a road is Lagos Run. Its own description, re-read on the live page 6 October 2026: drive the danfo from Ojuelegba to Yaba, pick up passengers, dodge the go-slow, top a live leaderboard.
- A character, a map and other people's names is Lagos Life, whose home page shows who is online.
- A sign-up form before anything happens is Lagos Life. Lagos Run has no login, which TechPoint states directly.
- A rent line and a Saturday date is Lagos Life. Lagos Run has no rent or property to manage.
- A score on a board and no account is Lagos Run.
Both are bright, yellow-danfo, low-poly browser games, and reposts crop away the interface. A score means Lagos Run. A balance, a home and a chat mean Lagos Life.
Both are free, both in a browser
Neither needs an install. TechPoint's shorthand for Lagos Run is "no login, no download, and a simple game loop", and Lagos Life's own page ends the same way: play free in your browser.
What differs is what happens after the page loads. Lagos Run drops you into a run. Lagos Life shows a landing page you can browse anonymously, then asks for an account before the city. If a page pushes an APK, a download or a token, it is neither game; the download page and the safety page cover that pattern.
The player numbers are not comparable
Lagos Life publishes a live counter, which is why it gets quoted. As of 6 October 2026 at 01:47 UTC, the official endpoint at lagoslife.app/api/public-stats reported 49,551 players online. Treat it as a snapshot: it moves every second, and the counter in the site's own home page header is a different number from the same moment. The player count page shows how to check it.
Lagos Run publishes no live counter. The repeated figure is the developer's own, passed to TechCabal in late September: over 20,000 players in two days. Other outlets reported different early counts that week, so do not put the two games on one chart.
The copycats in the same feed
- London Red Bus swaps the danfo for a double-decker. TechPoint reports it appeared on 1 October 2026, built the morning after its creator saw Lagos Run.
- PH Lifestyle is a multiplayer life game set in Port Harcourt. Its creator said on X he saw the danfo game, then Lagos Life, and would not leave another city out.
- Road to Number One is about moving to Lagos and chasing music stardom, built after seeing both.
None is a Lagos Life update and none is a Lagos Run reskin by the original developers.
Which link belongs to which game
Measured 6 October 2026; copycats attached to both within days.
| Address | What it actually is |
|---|---|
| danfo.horpey.dev | Lagos Run. The address the developer posts himself. Live when we checked |
| lagoslife.app | Lagos Life. The official entry point named in the game's own terms |
| lagoslife.eliysites.com | Lagos Life on the operator's own domain, an official mirror |
| lagosrun.org, lagosrun.com.ng | Both load and claim the name. Neither is an address the developer has posted |
| danforun.com | Named as canonical in Lagos Run's metadata, but did not load on 6 October 2026 |
| lagoslifes.wiki | Us. An independent guide, affiliated with neither game |
We are not the official site of either game and we are not paid by either developer. Before typing anything into a link someone sent, run it past the official link guide.
What we could not verify
- Whether the two share anything technical. No source describes shared accounts, code, servers or revenue.
- Lagos Run's real player count. Self-reported from late September, and outlets disagree. There is no public counter.
- Lagos Run's rules. No scoring table, route list, fare breakdown or difficulty curve is published.
- Lagos Run's release date to the day. Outlets differ within the same week, so we give the week.
