Amala Shitta, Quilox, the market, Ikoyi and more: what the notable Lagos Life locations are for and what happens when you turn up.
Lagos Life Map: Confirmed Locations and What Each One Is For
The Lagos Life map is a 2D top-down grid of the city, and every pin on it is a working place with its own opening hours and its own list of things to do there: Amala Shitta for food, Quilox for the night, Balogun Market to trade, Freedom Park for art. This page lists the Lagos locations we could confirm from official sources, explains what each one is for, and is honest about what we could not check.
Four things decide how you plan a trip:
- Places keep real opening hours. Food stops shut in the evening. The late venues run to 4 or 5am, so going out is a night-time errand, not an evening one.
- Zone matters more than distance. The game sorts Lagos into mainland, island, Ikoyi and Victoria Island, Lekki, and Apapa, and names the crossings between them.
- Some doors gate on status, not on cash. The Ikoyi and Banana Island homes cannot be bought into at any balance.
- There is no official place index. Which is why this page prints no grand total.
How this list was checked
Every location below was read out of the data the official site serves to your browser at lagoslife.app on 2026-10-06 — the same names, areas and opening windows the game shows you. The blurbs quoted here are the game's own text. We did not create an account to check any of it.
Official source: Lagos Life — the game's own one-line pitch: "Ride danfo, chop amala at Shitta, party at Quilox, survive NEPA — and make real friends. Play free in your browser."
The official site has no map page, place list or guide — those routes all return 404. The location set is also not closed: the daily task list sends you to spots absent from any single map card, and names venues in Abuja and Port Harcourt too. Guides printing one tidy number are counting something the game never published.

Zones and the crossings between them
| Zone | Areas it covers | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Mainland | Mushin, Yaba, Akoka, Surulere, Ojuelegba, Ikeja, Maryland, Oshodi, Ebute Metta | Food, tech, worship, the university, cheap living |
| Island | Lagos Island, Igbosere, Marina, CMS | Markets, civic life, courts, policing |
| Ikoyi / Victoria Island | Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Banana Island, Five Cowries Creek | The top clubs, bank towers, the casino |
| Lekki | Lekki, Lekki Phase 1, Ajah | Mall, beach, canopy walk, the big addresses |
| Apapa | Apapa | Industrial, refinery end of town |
The crossings are named too, which is why "mainland to island" is the game's own framing: Third Mainland Bridge, the Lekki–Ikoyi Link, Eko Bridge to Apapa, Airport Road, Admiralty Way and Marina. Your trip cost depends on the zones you cross, not the number of pins you pass — the danfo and getting around guide covers the modes.
Food: the places that refill you
Working and travelling cost energy, and food is the reset. The loop is find work, earn, manage energy, eat.
| Place | Area | Hours | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amala Shitta | Surulere | 07:00–22:00 | Amala, gbegiri and ewedu. The game says it: "The queue is part of the experience." Chef career is based here. |
| Balogun Market | Lagos Island | 07:00–19:00 | Trade, haggle, buy and resell. Trading career sits here. |
| Mama Bisi's Salon | Surulere | 08:00–21:00 | Braids, nails and gossip. Hairstyling career is based here. |
| Elegushi Beach | Lekki | 08:00–04:00 | Suya, coconuts, water sports by day, a beach rave after 8pm. |
| The Palms | Lekki | 09:00–22:00 | Cinema, supermarket, food court, air conditioning. Retail career sits here. |
| Ivory Rooftop | Victoria Island | 12:00–01:00 | Candlelit fine dining twenty floors up, booked for two. |
| Eko Hotels | Victoria Island | 24 hours | Pool, buffet, live band, and a presidential suite. |
The daily task list literally contains "Eat at Amala Shitta". If you are broke, the buka is the move that keeps the rest of the day possible — the income routes that pay properly are in how to make money.
Nightlife: the late shift
| Place | Area | Hours | What happens there |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quilox | Victoria Island | 22:00–05:00 | Ozumba Mbadiwe's most famous club, and the one the game's own pitch names. Dance battles, bottle service, VIP tables, song requests. |
| The Library | Victoria Island | 22:00–04:00 | Enter through a bookcase. Moody lights, cocktails, a packed floor. |
| New Afrika Shrine | Ikeja | 14:00–04:00 | Live band and open mic. Music career is based here. |
| Elegushi Beach | Lekki | 08:00–04:00 | Beach rave, the loudest free option in the game. |
| Eko Casino | Victoria Island | 24 hours | Slots, blackjack, poker. Game money only, "just for fun". |
| Oga Sunday Viewing Centre | Surulere | 12:00–23:00 | Plastic chairs, a humming generator, and the betting slip under your elbow. |
This is where media attention lands, and it matches what the game does. As Arise News puts it, players "visit recognisable social and entertainment spots, including Amala Shitta and Quilox", and can "encounter music from emerging Nigerian artists in virtual clubs". The wagering side of the evening is in betting, slips and limits.
Markets, shops and services
Balogun Market is the trade hub — its blurb reads "Everything is here. Everything. Just haggle." Reselling is one of the cheapest side hustles and it starts here. Polanco Motors on Victoria Island is the showroom: browse, test drive, drive it home. General Hospital in Ikeja never closes, and two careers sit inside it. Eko Police Division and the Lagos High Court are on the island, where the game's risk side resolves.
Work is pinned to specific doors
That is the most useful thing about the map for a new player: income is not abstract. Careers attach to named locations with fixed shifts — tech at CcHub in Yaba, banking at Marina Towers, music at Afrika Shrine, trading at Balogun, chef at Amala Shitta, DJ at Quilox, fitness at i-Fitness, events at Freedom Park. Your address and your shift can disagree with each other, and the commute is the hidden tax. See jobs and promotions and renting a house and moving up.
NEPA: the outage is a mechanic, not just a joke
"Survive NEPA" is in the official pitch, and it is the one part of Lagos life that is a system rather than scenery. Power cuts are scheduled on the game clock: each in-game day draws one to three outage windows, each running roughly twenty to ninety minutes. When one is live the status line reads "NEPA took light. Only two shops on generators are lit.", and after dark the outage shows on the screen itself.
- Mood swings are part of the game. Light returning grants a moodlet the game writes as "UP NEPA! 💡 Light don come! The whole street shouted." Traffic does the same in reverse.
- Power is an item category. A rechargeable lamp that "glows even when NEPA takes light", a solar and inverter setup, and a generator that works only while it has fuel are all purchasable.
- Businesses are exposed to it. A barbing salon can lose a day with the reason "NEPA took light and the generator packed up" — an outage hits income, not just mood.
What is documented is the schedule, the status line, the moodlets, the power items, and a weekly policy called "Steady light" whose effect is NEPA cuts being shorter and rarer. Since outage windows come off the clock and clubs run past midnight, expect overlap — but treat the night-time effect as flavour until the developer documents it.
That policy is one of five rotating every week and applying to everyone at once, so the answer changes from Monday to Monday. Lagos Life weekly events tracks what is live.
Ikoyi, Banana Island and the doors that gate on status
Ikoyi carries the gym and the golf club; Banana Island holds the most expensive address in the game. Both are visitable — and both homes there are move-in only, so no amount of naira opens the door. You get in through a player who lives there. The full rule is in renting a house and moving up.
A player cataloguing the expensive end of the game while it was being exploited listed exactly these objects — the Ikoyi club, owambe, a chieftaincy title, a jet and the Banana Island mansion — as what money was worth chasing. Read that post in context, not as strategy: the money exploit and what changed.
UNILAG and the campus track
UNILAG sits in Akoka, on the mainland, and it is a destination rather than a backdrop. You attend lectures, sit exams, carry a CGPA, pick a department and receive an allowance every Monday. Student housing exists in Akoka, and a keke stop runs to "UNILAG · Akoka". A CGPA threshold gates certain part-time work — see side hustles and business.
Announced but not open
| Site | Area | What the game promises |
|---|---|---|
| Lagos International Airport | Ikeja | Five gates, a new runway, flights to the Abuja and Port Harcourt content, hundreds of airport jobs |
| Lagos Oil Refinery | Apapa | Local fuel refining, oil and gas careers, engineering and operations shifts |
Both are labelled "Coming soon" and the game's pitch is to send in your CV. Neither is playable — do not budget a trip around them.
What we could not verify
- A definitive location count. No official index exists, and the playable set spans the city map, job sites, campuses and unopened sites.
- Exact travel times between pins. No official page publishes them, and we did not play the game to time them.
- What an outage does inside a club. Documented effects are listed above; the rest is inference.
- Whether every named place is reachable on day one. The task list is the best public signal, and it names venues this page has not listed.
For scale, the official public stats endpoint reported 46,153 players online at 2026-10-06 01:40 UTC — a live counter that swings through the day.
The game runs on lagoslife.app, with lagoslife.eliysites.com as an official mirror. Domains like lagoslife.com and lagos.life are parked pages for sale. If a link wants you to download a "Lagos Life app", it is not the game — see where to play.
FAQ
How many locations are there? We publish no number. There is no official index, and the set spans the city map, job sites, campuses and announced-but-unopened sites, so any single figure counts something the game never published.
Why is everything closed when I log on? Places keep in-game opening hours, and a virtual day follows the real one. Quilox opens at 22:00, Amala Shitta closes at 22:00 — the same place can be dead or packed depending on when you arrive.
Does NEPA block progress? It changes the status line, the moodlets, and whether your business loses a day. You can answer it with money, through lamps, solar and a fuelled generator.
Can I get into the Ikoyi and Banana Island homes by saving up? No. They are move-in only and never purchasable with cash. The route in is through another player.
